ABOUT LAKES REGION PET RESORT

Mike and Cindi Ingalls struggled with the question of “who will take care of our dogs” each time they thought about taking a vacation.  Who can we trust with our “babies” and where will they be safe?  Never feeling they found the right place, Cindi and Mike only traveled if they could take their three small dogs with them.

On a work trip to Wales, Cindi met Becky Koleno, owner of Royal Pet Resort in PA.  During dinner one evening, Cindi expressed her frustration of not having anywhere to leave her dogs when she and Mike wanted to go away.  Becky quickly stated, “open a pet resort that would meet the needs of people just like yourself”.  That was the turning point for the Ingalls and the start of the dream of having the Only Luxury Pet Resort in the Lakes Region that would offer the best care for any size dogs and cats.  Today that dream is a reality.  We thank both Becky Koleno and Mary Blain of Mountain View Pet Resort in Canaan, NH for their expert guidance on how to successfully build a true pet resort.

Lakes Region Pet Resort was designed with your pets needs in mind.  Mike and Cindi are animal lovers and will treat your babies as if they were their own.  Our dogs are spoiled and yours will be too while staying at our resort!  A lot of time will be spent with your pets while in our care so that they enjoy their stay with us.

We currently have six dogs, two Yorkshire Terriers, Luci Lu and Rudy and our four Chihuahuas, Pippin, Emmett, Bella & Gabby. Rudy was adopted from Yorkies, Inc in Taunton, MA. We believe in providing forever homes for dogs in need. At our farm in Wolfeboro we have 5 laying Hens, a Shetland Pony, Button that we drive, Tessa our Quarter Horse for riding and Pearl, our miniature pet pig.

We have experience with “special needs” dogs and dedicate Lakes Region Pet Resort to Taz, our first Yorkshire Terrier that had liver shunt disease and as a young pup went through delicate surgery to correct his abnormality.  This “little fighter” amazed everyone by living for 10 years - way beyond what was expected.  He forever lives in our hearts.

Cindi has been involved with animals since childhood, raising Dutch Rabbits, showing horses and also having dogs as family pets. An animal lover from a young age, her dream was to make a career with animals. In 1982, she bought a farm and began breeding and showing Morgan horses. For many years she had both Dobermans and Standard Schnauzers and cats, always considering them important members of her family.
Mike spent 16 years in California and always had cats as his chosen family pets. After Mike and Cindi married in 2000, they began to scale back on the size of their dogs and now have Yorkshire Terriers and Chihuahua's. “We have found it very rewarding to adopt some of our Yorkies, from Yorkies Inc and giving dogs in need of a forever home”.
Both Mike and Cindi feel that anyone should be able to go away and know their four-legged family members are safe and happy and getting the important attention they need. They created Lakes Region Pet Resort due to their passion for animals and the need in the Lakes Region for a unique, non-traditional facility offering the best in Day Care, Boarding and Training.
Cindi and Mike are pet certified in both First Aid and CPR.

Cindi has been a member of the Board of Directors for the NH Humane Society.

"It came to me that every time I lose a dog, they take a piece of my heart with them. And every new dog who comes into my life gifts me with a piece of their heart. If I live long enough, all the components of my heart will be dog, and maybe I will become as generous and loving as they are." Unknown
